2025 All Region ABCA/Rawlings 1st Team, College Baseball All American, All-Sun Belt 1st TeamHe leads the nation with 10 starts of at least six innings while allowing one or fewer runs. The only player with a season of more such outings in the last five years is LSU's Paul Skenes in 2023. In his first Omaha start against Oregon State, Morrison retired 16 straight Oregon State batters after allowing a homer to lead off the 3rd inning, the third-longest streak in the MCWS since the 2011 move to Charles Schwab Field Omaha.
Riley Eikhoff (9th Round, 256th overall, Chicago White Sox) RHP #26
Eikhoff was part of a three-headed monster of a starting rotation that saw Coastal post the second-best team ERA and WHIP in the nation this season. He saved his best campaign for last, finishing 7-2 with 3.10 ERA, striking out 71 in 90.0 innings pitched. He scattered 11 walks on the season, finishing No. 4 in the NCAA with 1.1 walks allowed per nine innings.
Matthew Potok (18th Round, 551st overall, Philadelphia Phillies) RHP #29
The right-hander appeared in 21 games, posting a 4–1 record, one save and a 2.52 ERA across 35.2 innings. He struck out 33 batters while allowing just eight walks and limiting opponents to a .254 batting average. Potok delivered several high-leverage performances in the second half of the season, including 3.0 scoreless innings with four strikeouts against Arkansas State, a 4.0-inning relief win over App State, and three scoreless outings combined in the Sun Belt Championship, NCAA Super Regional and Men's College World Series. In three NCAA Tournament appearances, Potok logged 5.0 innings with two strikeouts and a 2–0 record.

Defensively, the junior from Myrtle Beach, S.C., totaled 370 putouts with 30 assists without committing any errors. As a sophomore in 2023, Bender set the Coastal Carolina single-season RBI record with 83 runs batted in while hitting .341 with 86 hits, 13 doubles, two triples, and 19 homers. Bender was named to the All-Sun Belt Conference first team while hitting in the cleanup spot in the top offense in the Sun Belt.

2025 Status: Active - Fredericksburg Nationals - Single-A AffiliateA transfer from WVU Potomac State College, the right-handed pitcher finished 4-4 on the year with 21 appearances and nine starts. With a 7.52 ERA, Meckley tallied one save on the season while pitching a complete game in a seven-inning 12-2 win over Ball State. In 52.2 innings pitched, the Gettysburg, Pa., native totaled 57 strikeouts with 27 walks and allowed 46 runs on 54 hits.

He led the Sun Belt and ranked in the top-25 nationally in wins and was sixth in the Sun Belt in ERA on the season. He was fourth in the Sun Belt in innings pitched, seventh in strikeouts with 85, and tied for second in the league with 25 strikeouts looking.

Last season, predominately as a closer, Abney went 3-2 with five saves and a 4.99 ERA over 22 appearances and three starts. The junior hurler fanned 68 batters over 48.2 innings pitched and held opponents to a .250 batting average against him on the season.

Hit his third home run of the year and drove in three RBIs in the home victory versus No. 25 Illinois (March 1). Went 2-for-4 with a run scored in the win over Indiana (March 3) and 2-for-4 with a triple and a run scored in the win over Washington (March 9) at the Seattle Baseball Showcase.

Also finished his career ranked second in the CCU career record books in sacrifice hits (39), most fielding chances (1,296) and most putouts (1,173). A 2018 CoSIDA Academic All-District selection. A two-time Sun Belt Conference Commissioner’s List member (2016-17, 2017-18) and a two-time Big South Presidential Honor Roll member (2014-15, 2015-16).

Record: overall record of 37-19-1 and a 22-7-1 record in the Sun Belt Conference.
Coastal Carolina earned the #1 seed to the 2017 Sun Belt Championship, winning the Sun Belt East Division and having the best overall league record. This was Coastal’s first season in the Sun Belt. Coastal had the best winning percentage in the Sun Belt and this was just the third time in Sun Belt history that at least three league teams won 20 conference games in a season (other times were 1999 and 1995). Coastal swept its last three Sun Belt series – two on the road with one at Sun Belt West Division champion UTA – to earn top seed. CCU also won its conference series at South Alabama to help secure the East Division.

2016 NCAA Raleigh Regional All-TournamentThrough the regular season, he led the league in batting, on base percentage and runs scored while being the only player in the league to rank among its top eight in batting, on base percentage, runs scored, slugging percentage, stolen bases, total bases, hits, doubles, walks and home runs. He additionally ranked among the league's top four in hit by pitch, sacrifice flies and sacrifice bunts. In addition to his offensive prowess, Cooke made numerous highlight reel plays in centerfield throughout the season. In conference games only, he ranked among the top six in eight categories.

2016 All-Big South 2nd TeamThis past season, the right-hander was twice named a National Player of the Week by Collegiate Baseball and named a National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association National Pitcher of the Week once. Cunningham finished the season with a 7-2 record and a 2.63 ERA. He led the Sun Belt and, prior to NCAA tournament action ranked 13th in the NCAA with 117 strikeouts (currently 19th), which ranks fifth on the CCU single-season list. He additionally ranks among the national leaders in WHIP (19th; 0.83) and fewest hits allowed per nine innings (38th; 6.37) as opponents had a meager .195 batting average. In Sun Belt games, Cunningham also posted a league-best 84 strikeouts and threw a league-best 75.0 innings. Of those 75 innings, Cunningham tallied 38 3-up, 3-down frames.
Will Latcham (17th Round, 514th overall, St. Louis Cardinals) RHP #33
A junior college transfer, was 3-0 with four saves in 14 appearances in his lone season at Coastal. He struck out 29 in 25.2 innings, versus just six walks, and posted an impressive 1.05 ERA. Latcham missed 25 of CCU's first 35 games due to injury. However, he pitched eight times in CCU's final 21 games and was 3-0 with two saves and a 1.04 ERA with 22 strikeouts in 17.1 innings pitched.
Jordan Gore (19th Round, 556th overall, Minnesota Twins) INF/RHP #11
Graduated cum laude from Coastal Carolina with a degree in sociology this past month, played his first two seasons at South Carolina before transferring to Coastal. (He sat out the 2016 season at CCU due to NCAA regulations.) Despite having Tommy John surgery in May of 2016, Gore played every inning of the 2017 season and earned second team All-Sun Belt honors. He batted .318 for the season, including an impressive .344 in league play, and made numerous highlight-reel plays at shortstop.
Wood Myers (29th Round, 874th overall, St. Louis Cardinals) INF #8
Finished the year with a .330 average with 44 runs, 70 hits, 11 doubles, a triple, six home runs, 19 walks, just 23 strikeouts in 212 at bats and was 11-of-14 in stolen bases. Overall, Myers had a hit in 44 of his 53 games played this season.

Record: overall record of 55-18 and a 21-3 record in the Big South Conference.
Postseason:CCU won 55 games, which was the best win total in the NCAA and tied a school record for wins in a season. The Chanticleers became the first team to win the championship in its debut CWS appearance since Minnesota in 1956.
Coastal Carolina is the second team in Super Regional era (since 1999) to make CWS & lead NCAA in homers in same year, joining Florida in 2012. The Chanticleers are the first team to lead the nation in homers and win the College World Series since LSU in 1997.
With two wins the championship series versus Arizona to claim the title, Gilmore recorded his 1,100th career victory, which ranks 35th in the NCAA all-time Division I wins list. Gilmore is 1,100-540 overall
The Chanticleers were 6-0 in elimination games during the 2016 NCAA baseball tournament and 5-0 in such games at the College World Series. CCU is the first school to win five elimination games in Omaha since Oregon State in 2006.
Coastal was 14-1 on Sundays, including a win in the Super Regional final at LSU and a victory over #1 national seed Florida in the teams’ College World Series opener. The Chanticleers were additionally 21-1when wearing its black jersey and 27-1 when wearing its all black hat. The lone loss on all three occasions was a seven-inning, 4-2 setback at Georgia Tech.

2016 National Champions
The 2016 Coastal Carolina baseball team made history with one of the most remarkable Cinderella runs in college sports. Under head coach Gary Gilmore, the Chanticleers entered the NCAA Tournament as underdogs but fought their way through a gauntlet of powerhouse programs. They captured the Conway Regional, upset LSU in the Baton Rouge Super Regional, and then shocked the nation in Omaha by winning the College World Series. Coastal defeated Arizona in a thrilling three-game championship series to secure the school’s first-ever national championship in any sport, cementing the 2016 squad as legends in program history and a symbol of perseverance, grit, and belief.
