KEVIN SCHNALL
Head Coach
Member of Coastal’s Sasser Athletics Hall of Fame. Played for Coastal Carolina as a catcher from 1995-99.
2025 was his rookie year as head coach where he was named Baseball America’s Coach of the Year, ABCA Atlantic Region Coach of the Year. He lead the Chanticleer’s to a record breaking season of 56-13. A season that landed Coastal back in the finals at the College World Series in Omaha. -
CHAD OXENDINE
Associate Head Coach & Recruiting Coordinator
Oxendine returns to his alma mater (a decorated catcher from 2001-04) after spending the past three seasons as the head coach at Longwood. Oxendine served as the director of baseball of operations at Coastal before being promoted to director of player development, operations, and analytics.

MATT WILLIAMS
Assistant Baseball Coach / Pitching
Matt Williams in his first year as the new pitching coach for the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers after spending last season at South Carolina.

MATT SCHILLING
Assistant Baseball Coach
Matt Schilling, who played at Coastal Carolina from 1993-94 and served as an assistant coach for the Chants from 1995-00, returned to his alma mater to serve as a volunteer assistant baseball coach in the summer of 2012.

MICKEY BEACH
Director of Baseball Operations
Beach returns to returns to his alma mater after a four-year stint at Longwood University as an assistant coach. He will be the Director of Baseball Operations under new head coach Kevin Schnall.

Shewmaker enters his second season with the Chanticleers after having spent the last three seasons as an assistant coach with the Vanderbilt baseball program.

MICHAEL THOMSON
Assistant Director for Speed, Strength and Conditioning
Michael Thomson joined the Coastal Carolina University athletics department as an assistant director of speed, strength and conditioning in February 2023. He works directly with the baseball and golf programs.
