Owings, a native of Gilbert, S.C., was a three-time All-Big South selection while playing at Coastal Carolina University. In 2016, he hit .352 with 16 homers and 57 RBI in leading the Chanticleers to the College Worlds Series championship, beating Arizona in the best-of-three series finale.
He recently had a playing stint with Ponce in the Roberto Clemente Professional Baseball League and Margarita in the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League.
"We are lucky to have Connor Owings back in teal," Schnall said. "A National Champion player and person, we are thrilled to have him back on board. His passion, leadership, and dedication will be invaluable as we continue to strive to remain one of the most successful college baseball programs in the country. We look forward to the positive impact he will have on our whole program!"
Owings pro career has taken him all over the world from America to Australia and Latin America and now back to Conway.
